Preliminary Candidate Shin Jeong-hoon Holds Communication Meeting with Regional Children's Center Association
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Shin Jeong-hoon, the Democratic Party of Korea preliminary candidate for Naju·Hwasun, Jeonnam, held a meeting with the Naju Regional Children's Center Association on the 10th.
The Naju Regional Children's Center Association visited Shin Jeong-hoon's campaign office that day to explain the current status and difficulties of the regional children's centers and requested active interest and support.
Regional children's centers are a type of child welfare facility that provide comprehensive child welfare services for the healthy development of children, including protection, education, wholesome play, and connection with guardians and the local community.
The center directors who attended the meeting requested support for program expenses, which have decreased due to a shortage of operating funds caused by the minimum wage increase, and expansion of support to improve the poor treatment of workers.
The facility directors of the regional children's centers said, "Realistic support and assistance to improve working conditions are urgently needed for the stable operation of regional children's centers."
They proposed that national subsidies separately support labor costs and operating expenses to strengthen the roles and functions of the centers, and suggested applying a unified wage system for social welfare facilities to improve the treatment of regional children's center workers at the minimum wage level.

In response, preliminary candidate Shin Jeong-hoon said, "I am grateful to the regional children's center directors who work diligently on the front lines with a sense of mission," and added, "We will establish a cooperative system with the regional children's centers and review institutional improvements from various angles to revitalize the centers and provide support."
