Russian Ambassador in Pyongyang: "North Korea to Test New Strategic Weapon Soon"
[Asia Economy New York=Correspondent Baek Jong-min] The Russian ambassador to North Korea predicted that North Korea will soon test a new strategic weapon it is developing.
Alexander Matsegora, the ambassador, said in an interview with TASS on the 7th (local time), "The North Korean leader always fulfills his promises. Since he said he would unveil a new strategic weapon soon, it will definitely happen in the near future."
He added, "North Korean diplomats always mention during meetings with us the declaration made at the year-end plenary session of the Workers' Party Central Committee last year that they will continuously strengthen national deterrence," and predicted that North Korea will test a new weapon for deterrence purposes before long.

However, Ambassador Matsegora said, "When North Korea will showcase their new capabilities depends on various factors," and anticipated that the readiness of the new weapon and the external situation will both have an influence.
