On the 7th, a government official stated, "I understand that preparations for deploying the third charter flight to bring back Korean residents from Wuhan have progressed significantly," adding, "Although the exact timing is unknown, we are in discussions with the airline and expect to launch the flight soon."
As the novel coronavirus spread, 701 Koreans residing in the Wuhan area returned to Korea on government charter flights on January 31 and February 1. However, approximately 200 people, including infants, children, pregnant women, Korean nationals, and their families, remain in the area.
