Customs Service Focuses on Resolving 'Local Customs Clearance Issues in China' Amid New Coronavirus Response
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The Korea Customs Service is taking steps to resolve customs clearance difficulties faced by domestic companies in China due to the novel coronavirus infection (Wuhan pneumonia).
According to the Korea Customs Service on the 7th, a 'Customs Clearance Difficulty Resolution Task Force' will be established and operated locally in China starting from this day. Additionally, through cooperation channels with external organizations such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and KOTRA, customs clearance difficulties of domestic companies will be addressed.
Furthermore, the Korea Customs Service explained that it will provide 'Local Trends by Region in China' on a daily basis to resolve inquiries from companies operating locally in China and companies exporting to China.
Through this, import and export companies are expected to quickly confirm local information in China such as whether Chinese customs are operating normally (including temporary opening during nighttime or emergencies), whether airports and ports are operating normally, and any customs clearance delays.
The local trends by region in China can be checked through the Korea Customs Service Overseas Customs Support Center website and the export-import company support centers in Incheon, Seoul, Busan, Daegu, Gwangju, and Pyeongtaek.
