Seongap Kim, Mayor of Gwangjin District, Calls Meeting on COVID-19 Measures with Professional Organizations and Related Facility Heads... Why?
June 6-7: Task Force Leaders' Strategy Meeting Held at District Office Planning Situation Room... Time for Sharing Opinions on Cooperation Items and Response Plans by Each Organization
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Seon-gap) held a ‘Countermeasure Meeting with Heads of Professional Organizations and Related Facility Managers to Overcome the Novel Coronavirus Infection’ on the 6th at the district office’s planning situation room.
This meeting was organized to convey the current situation to the heads of various professional organizations as the novel coronavirus rapidly spreads, share opinions on overcoming measures, and establish an organic cooperative system by function.
The meeting was attended by Kim Seon-gap, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, along with representatives from 18 professional organizations including the Gwangjin-gu Sports Council, Saemaeul Leaders Council, Red Cross Volunteer Society, Residents’ Autonomy Committee Chairpersons’ Council, and local traditional market merchants’ association, as well as district executives.
Gwangjin-gu conveyed the current status of the novel coronavirus infection and explained the step-by-step implementation plans and response status of the disaster management system being carried out by the district.
Following this, cooperation matters were communicated and opinions on response measures were shared. At this meeting, the district requested each professional organization to cooperate with ▲sharing information and reporting trends related to the coronavirus for each organization ▲cooperation during disinfection and sterilization ▲guidance on preventive measures and distribution of promotional materials ▲distribution of quarantine supplies.
They also asked to temporarily postpone various events where many people gather until the situation stabilizes.
At the meeting, the heads of each professional organization unanimously stated, “It is important to share information to prevent the spread of misinformation to residents and to carry out self-prevention measures suited to the characteristics of each organization.”
They also said, “We will assist in distributing quarantine supplies such as masks and hand sanitizers provided by the district to ensure no blind spots, and will actively cooperate if support is needed for publicity and infection prevention activities.”
Kim Seon-gap, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “As the saying goes, ‘The more wisdom, the better,’ it is a time when the trust and cooperation of all residents are necessary for Gwangjin-gu to be safe from the coronavirus,” adding, “Since the virus has no holidays, please share any needs or good response measures at any time, 24 hours a day.”

He continued, “Our district will maintain vigilance so that no part becomes lax and will mobilize all means and methods to take proactive measures.”
On the 7th at 2 p.m., Gwangjin-gu plans to continue the countermeasure meeting at the same location by inviting representatives from 15 professional organizations and related facilities including the Gwangjin-gu Veterans Hall, local comprehensive welfare centers, and the National and Private Daycare Center Association.
