17th Confirmed Case, Contacted 188 People While Traveling Between Seoul, Guri, and Daegu (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] The 17th confirmed case of the novel coronavirus infection (Wuhan pneumonia) in South Korea was found to have come into contact with a total of 188 people before being quarantined after attending a conference held in Singapore.
According to the epidemiological investigation results of the 17th patient announced by the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on the 6th, the patient (a 37-year-old Korean male) attended a conference held in Singapore and returned to Incheon Airport on the 24th of last month. At around 9:30 a.m., he took the airport railroad to Seoul Station. Afterwards, he visited a restaurant near Seoul Station (Bukchangdong Sundubu Seoul Station branch) and a pharmacy (Jungang Onnuri Pharmacy), then took the KTX departing at 12:40 p.m. to Dongdaegu Station, from where he took a taxi to his family home in Daegu.
On the 25th, he used his own car to visit his in-laws' home in Daegu and a gas station (Mini Gas Station) in Suseong-gu, then took a taxi to Dongdaegu Station and stopped by a convenience store (Storyway Dongdaegu New Waiting Room) located there. Afterwards, he took the SRT departing Dongdaegu Station at 9:26 p.m. and arrived at Seoul Suseo Station at around 11:10 p.m., then took the subway to Gwangnaru Station. From there, he took a taxi to his home.
On the 26th, at around 6 p.m., he visited a medical institution in Guri-si, Gyeonggi-do (Hanyang University Guri Hospital) by taxi, passing through the emergency room waiting area and negative pressure isolation room, then returned home by taxi at around 9 p.m. On the 27th, at around 2 p.m., he visited another medical institution in Guri-si (Samsung Seoul Family Clinic) by taxi, and after the consultation, visited a pharmacy in Guri-si (Guri Jongno Pharmacy) before returning home at around 3:30 p.m.
On the 28th, it was confirmed that he stayed home all day, and on the 29th at around 3 p.m., he visited a supermarket in Guri-si (Primart Guri branch) and a restaurant (Isaac Toast Guri Jangjamot branch) on foot. Afterwards, he was understood to have stayed home continuously from the 30th through the 2nd of this month. On the 3rd, he visited a medical institution in Guri-si (Seoul Asan Internal Medicine) on foot, then visited a pharmacy in Guri-si (Su Pharmacy) at around 5 p.m., followed by a restaurant in Guri-si (Bonjuk Guri Topyeong branch) at around 5:10 p.m., and then returned home. Later, at around 8 p.m., he took a bus to Gwangnaru Station, stopped by a convenience store (Emart24 Gwangnaru Station branch), met an acquaintance in front of Gwangnaru Station, and then took a bus back home.

The next day, he visited a medical institution in Guri-si (Hanyang University Guri Hospital) by taxi, returned home by a public health center vehicle, and was diagnosed positive, after which he was transferred to Myongji Hospital. The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention stated, "It has been confirmed that the patient came into contact with a total of 188 people during this period," and added, "Measures such as self-quarantine are being taken for those who had contact."
