[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] On the 6th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that it will conduct disinfection and sterilization of cultural facilities such as small theaters in Daehangno, museums, and performance halls once a week to prevent the novel coronavirus infection (Wuhan pneumonia).
The city plans to disinfect 131 small theaters in Daehangno and 71 cultural facilities including museums and performance halls, and place quarantine supplies such as thermal cameras and hand sanitizers throughout the facilities so that citizens can visit cultural facilities with peace of mind.
The 131 small theaters with fewer than 300 seats will undergo regular disinfection once a week for a total of 10 weeks, and additional disinfection will be conducted as needed depending on the spread of the novel coronavirus.
Additionally, the city has established operational standards for cultural facilities, including thoroughly preparing disinfection measures for events related to the main functions of each facility, holding them on a reduced scale, and canceling or postponing large-scale outdoor events or programs targeting unspecified large groups.
