Ruling and Opposition Parties Agree on Formation of National Assembly Special Committee on Novel Coronavirus
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] The Democratic Party of Korea and the Liberty Korea Party agreed on the 5th to form a Special Committee on Countermeasures in the National Assembly to address the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (Wuhan pneumonia).
Yoon Hu-deok of the Democratic Party and Kim Han-pyo, the floor deputy leaders of the Liberty Korea Party, met at the National Assembly on the same day and agreed to form the special committee. The name, chairman, and committee members will be discussed again at 11 a.m. on the 6th.

The ruling and opposition parties decided to hold a Health and Welfare Committee meeting as soon as possible to discuss the agreement and processing of quarantine-related bills. They also agreed to refrain from direct voter contact election campaigns for the April 15 general election for the time being.
