The confirmed patient's movement path contained in this document perfectly matches the patient's movement path disclosed by Guri City. Previously, official letters containing personal information of the 5th, 6th, and 16th confirmed cases were also leaked on the internet, prompting the police to launch an investigation.
At 12:38 PM on the 5th, a post presumed to have photographed the 'Report on the Occurrence of a Novel Coronavirus Confirmed Patient' document was uploaded on an internet 'Mom Cafe' in Guri, Gyeonggi Province.
The document included △ the confirmed patient's age and gender, occurrence details, symptoms △ progress and measures taken, among other contents. It also detailed the daily movement routes presumed to be of the 17th confirmed patient.
The Mom Cafe member who posted this said, "The confirmed patient's movement path was shared in another cafe," and explained the reason for sharing the document as "I hope everything passes safely."
Previously, on the 4th, a document containing personal information of the 16th confirmed patient, known to reside in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, was posted on an internet Mom Cafe in Gwangju, causing controversy.
Based on the title 'Health Administration and Infection Control Team' written in the document, it is presumed to have been produced by Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju.
This document also contains detailed information such as △ initial symptom onset △ hospital transfer details. Although anonymized, the patient's surname, age, gender, and residential area are still listed.
Official documents containing personal information of the 5th and 6th patients have also been posted on internet communities, and the police are investigating the leakage circumstances.
As documents containing personal information of novel coronavirus confirmed patients have been repeatedly leaked on the internet, the police are considering applying charges such as official secret leakage or violation of the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act against the leakers.
According to current law (Article 127 of the Criminal Act), "If a public official or a former public official leaks secrets related to their duties under the law, they shall be punished by imprisonment or detention for not more than two years or disqualification for not more than five years."
Also, the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act stipulates in Articles 74 and 77 that "A person engaged or formerly engaged in infectious disease-related work who leaks secrets learned through their work to others shall be punished by imprisonment for not more than three years or a fine not exceeding 30 million won."

Meanwhile, according to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, as of the morning of the 5th, the number of confirmed novel coronavirus cases in the country has increased to 18.
