Dongdaemun-gu Publishes 'Dongdaemun-gu Newsletter Braille Edition' for the Visually Impaired
Producing 250 copies of 40 pages monthly... Distributed to visually impaired residents and welfare facilities

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Yoo Deok-yeol) has started publishing the "Dongdaemun-gu Newsletter Braille Edition" for the visually impaired from this month.
The "Dongdaemun-gu Newsletter Braille Edition" converts the monthly Dongdaemun-gu newsletter into braille so that residents with visual impairments can also read it. It is produced once a month, with 250 copies of 40 pages each.
The "Dongdaemun-gu Newsletter Braille Edition" includes selected content from the "Dongdaemun-gu Newsletter" that is useful for the visually impaired, such as △ district administration news △ welfare services △ health information, and various other lifestyle information.
Mr. Choi Sang-min (resident of Jangan-dong), a visually impaired person who received the first issue of the "Dongdaemun-gu Newsletter Braille Edition" published on the 4th, said, "My family used to read the monthly Dongdaemun-gu newsletter and share useful information with me, but now I am happy to be able to read the Dongdaemun-gu newsletter in braille myself."
The district expects that the publication of the "Dongdaemun-gu Newsletter Braille Edition" will enhance accessibility, understanding, and participation in district administration information for the visually impaired.
