Seongnam City to Provide Up to One Month of Living Expenses for COVID-19 Confirmed Cases
[Asia Economy (Seongnam) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province has decided to provide emergency livelihood support in case of home quarantine due to the 'novel coronavirus.'
Seongnam City announced on the 5th that, with the number of domestic infection cases rising to 16, it plans to provide emergency livelihood support for up to one month if a patient in the area is designated as a quarantine subject by the public health center.
The city will first provide them with instant rice, chicken porridge, seaweed, ramen, etc., and assign a public official responsible for the quarantined household. Additionally, if necessary, livelihood expenses will be paid for one month per household member according to the Ministry of Health and Welfare guidelines.

A city official stated, "With the trend of infection spreading, Seongnam cannot afford to be complacent," adding, "We will promptly provide supplies and livelihood support as soon as quarantine subjects occur through thorough prior preparation."
