Strengthening Public Transportation Quarantine... 30 High-Traffic Facilities Including SRT Suseo Station and City Airport Terminal Deployed
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jeong Soon-gyun) will install a total of 32 'Smart Hand Sanitizers' at 30 locations, including SRT Suseo Station, the City Airport Terminal, and subway stations, on the 5th to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection.
The smart hand sanitizer automatically dispenses disinfectant to help manage personal hygiene and displays infectious disease prevention guidelines on a monitor.
The district will sequentially deploy 32 smart hand sanitizers at major transportation facilities within the district, including 28 subway stations such as Cheongdam Station, which opened a fine dust free zone last month.
To prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus, the district formed a Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters during the Lunar New Year holiday period, led by District Mayor Jeong Soon-gyun as the head. The headquarters is conducting disinfection, promoting mask-wearing and preventive behavior guidelines, and swiftly responding by requesting investigations into authors and distributors of 'fake news' containing specific business names in the area on the 30th of last month.

Shim In-sik, Director of the Transportation Administration Division, said, "Gangnam is the most densely concentrated business and commercial district in Korea with a large floating population. The Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, composed of 4 teams and 19 departments, serves as a control tower to establish a 24-hour organic response system with related organizations such as the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency and Seoul City. We are doing our best to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus, so we hope residents can continue their daily lives with peace of mind."
