Korean Women Entrepreneurs Association Announces Awards Contest for the 24th Women's Entrepreneurs Day
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association (President Jung Yoon-sook) announced on the 4th that applications for the '2020 Women Entrepreneurs Merit Awards,' which recognize individuals who have contributed to the development and promotion of women-owned businesses, will be accepted until the 28th.
The Women Entrepreneurs Merit Awards are the only nationwide awards conducted for 1.47 million women entrepreneurs and are held annually to commemorate 'Women Entrepreneurs Day.' The award categories include ▲Model Women Entrepreneurs ▲Model Women Workers (including executives) ▲Contributors to Women Business Development and Organizations (Institutions), and the types of awards include government honors such as the Order of Industrial Service Merit (Gold Tower), Industrial Service Medal, Presidential Citation, Prime Minister Citation, as well as Ministerial Citations from the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, totaling 75 awards to be presented. At last year's '2019 Women Entrepreneurs Day Ceremony,' Ryu Byung-sun, CEO of Yeongdo Velvet, received the Gold Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit.

Applications can be submitted to the Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association Awards Team or any of the 17 regional branches nationwide. Submissions are accepted via email, mail, or in person. After a preliminary review based on submitted documents and on-site inspections, the final recipients will be selected through a merit review committee composed of experts from various fields.
