The ‘Suncheon Citizen Writer Project’ is a project by Suncheon City that discovers hidden local writers and helps publish their books.
Through this project, Kang’s novel, Caramel Macchiato Ice, tells a story about young men and women who believe in the power of literature, meeting by chance, and through misaligned time, seeking to restore purity.
This book is displayed on the first floor of Samsan Library in the ‘Books Written and Read Together by Suncheon People’ section and is available for loan at libraries throughout Suncheon.
Kang Su-hwa graduated from Suncheon National University’s Creative Writing Department and, while working as an administrative staff member, has submitted works to contests, reaching the final round in the poetry category of the Dongyang Ilbo and Gwangnam Ilbo New Year Literary Contests.
She has received honorable mentions in the Dongseo Literary Award and the Gyeongbuk Ilbo Literary Competition and continues to make steady efforts in her literary activities.
Since 2018, Kang has also taught poetry writing classes for one year to public officials at the Suncheon Office of Education, communicating with the educational community and promoting literature.
