View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Winter weather has been forecasted for the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions after a long time.
According to the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration on the 3rd, from the 4th to the 6th, the entire Gwangju and Jeonnam areas will experience subzero temperatures, expected to be the lowest this winter.
On the early morning of the 5th, about 1 cm of snow is expected to fall along the West Coast and some inland areas.
As a cold continental high-pressure system expands near the ground, and cold air below minus 30℃ at about 5 km altitude moves southward, the morning low temperatures on the 4th and 5th will mostly be below freezing, with Gwangju at minus 4℃ and Gokseong at minus 8℃.
In particular, the highest temperature on the 5th will drop by about 3 to 7℃ compared to the previous day, and winds will blow at 10 to 15 km/h (3 to 4 m/s), making the perceived temperature even lower.
Additionally, cold air accompanying the continental high-pressure system and relatively warm air flowing in along the mobile high-pressure system collide near the Bohai Bay, creating snow clouds, so about 1 cm of snow is expected to fall on the early morning of the 5th along the West Coast and some inland areas.
This cold spell will continue until the 6th, after which the strength of the continental high-pressure system will gradually weaken, and from the weekend, daytime temperatures will rise by more than 5℃, making temperatures similar to or higher than the average.
