Gyeongbuk Province Aims to Attract 10 Million Rural Tourists

According to Gyeongbuk Province on the 3rd, a mid- to long-term plan has been prepared with the goal of attracting 10 million rural tourists, including 100,000 foreigners, by 2023. First, this year, 10 billion KRW will be invested to develop various products, expand infrastructure, build networks, and strengthen promotion and marketing. Products utilizing agricultural and rural characteristics, natural scenery, traditional cultural heritage, and local cuisine will be developed, and programs for foreigners and village festivals will also be supported.
Tourist convenience facilities and rest areas will be expanded through the activation of rural experience and recreation villages and the establishment of wireless internet. In addition, professional personnel will be trained to operate experience events, and safety equipment such as carbon monoxide and gas leak detectors will be installed in guesthouses.
Along with this, a council for rural tourism revitalization will be launched, and promotion and marketing will be strengthened through online product management, experience tourism contests, and expansion of direct transactions of agricultural specialty products.
