At this event, Steve Bryce, the Head of Global Investment Strategy of the parent company Standard Chartered (SC) Group, gave a lecture emphasizing the importance of actively and dynamically responding to the market environment, where expectations and concerns coexist, in line with this year’s investment theme, ‘Balancing Act - Respond Dynamically,’ to establish a balanced investment strategy.
In response to customers’ questions about key market variables to watch this year, Steve Bryce forecasted, “Stabilization of global economic growth, recovery of corporate profits, and accommodative monetary and fiscal policies of various countries will act as positive factors; however, the prolonged economic expansion phase, political uncertainty related to the U.S. presidential election, and geopolitical risks including U.S.-China trade relations will remain as negative variables.”
He advised, “For successful investment, it is important to reduce asset volatility while appropriately responding to investment opportunities that may arise in the short term.”
In line with this year’s investment theme, the bank proposed ‘Income Plus’ as an investment product solution, suggesting the pursuit of portfolio balance and stable returns. This involves placing recommended products composed of income funds expected to generate stable returns at the core of the portfolio and constructing portfolios that seek either excess returns or stable income according to the customer’s investment preferences.
Through the bank’s mobile banking application (app), customers who newly subscribe to the funds recommended in ‘Income Plus’ and set up automatic transfers for 12 months or more (with transfer amounts of 100,000 KRW or more) can participate in an event offering a ‘Starbucks Sweet Dessert Set’ until the 28th.
