Gangseo-gu '2020 Community Garden Creation Resident Proposal Project' Contest ... For Communities of 5 or More, Applications Accepted Until February 21
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangseo-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Noh Hyun-song) is conducting a public contest for the ‘2020 Community Garden Creation Resident Proposal Project’ supported by Seoul City until the 21st.
This contest project is part of the ‘Seoul, Blooming with Flowers’ campaign, focusing on establishing a culture where residents themselves plant and cultivate flowers and trees in their daily lives.
The contest fields are divided into two categories: the greening material support field, which provides flowers, trees, fertilizers, etc. to communities, and the subsidy support field, which provides support for material costs and project operation costs.
The support scale is up to 2 million KRW per location for the greening material support field, and from a minimum of 5 million to a maximum of 20 million KRW per location for the subsidy support field. To participate in the subsidy support field, applicants must secure at least 10% of the subsidy amount as self-funding.
Applicants must be communities of five or more residents living in Gangseo-gu, and those whose living areas (workplace, school, etc.) are in Gangseo-gu can also apply if they create a community garden within Gangseo-gu.
Applicants can visit the Gangseo-gu Office Park and Greenery Division (Gayang-dong Annex) in person or apply by mail (3rd floor, Park and Greenery Division, Gangseo-gu Office Gayang-dong Annex, 38 Yangcheon-ro 59-gil, Gangseo-gu). The application forms can be downloaded from the Gangseo-gu Office website (www.gangseo.seoul.kr).
The selection results will be announced on March 10 on the Seoul City internet homepage (www.seoul.go.kr) after comprehensively reviewing the application documents based on landscape value, sustainability, public nature, and community nature.
A district official said, “We hope the small seed of this contest project will bloom into a beautiful garden where residents can come together,” and added, “We look forward to the active participation of residents to expand green living spaces.”
