This measure comes in response to price increases and shortages of related products caused by the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (Wuhan pneumonia).
The city plans to monitor price trends and supply status of masks, hand sanitizers, and hand cleansers mainly at offline stores such as pharmacies, convenience stores, and marts, in cooperation with autonomous districts and consumer organizations. Additionally, it explained that it has requested sellers to correct unfair price hikes or to refrain from raising prices on online shopping malls.
