Election for NongHyup Central Association President Held... Lee Seonghee and Yoo Namyoung in Runoff Vote
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Min-young] In the first round of voting for the Nonghyup Central Association president election, no candidate received a majority, leading to a runoff between the top two candidates, Lee Seong-hee and Yoo Nam-young.
According to Nonghyup Central Association, in the 24th president election held at the Nonghyup Central Association auditorium in Jung-gu, Seoul, candidate Lee Seong-hee received 82 votes, and candidate Yoo Nam-young received 69 votes, securing first and second place respectively.
Out of 292 delegates who participated in the vote, a candidate must obtain a majority to be elected. If no candidate receives a majority in the first round, a runoff vote is held between the first and second place candidates.
Besides the runoff candidates Lee Seong-hee and Yoo Nam-young, candidate Kang Ho-dong received 56 votes, candidate Choi Deok-gyu received 47 votes, candidate Lee Ju-seon received 21 votes, and candidate Moon Byung-wan received 12 votes. Candidates Cheon Ho-jin and Lim Myung-taek did not receive any votes.
