Dongseo Power, First Market-Type Public Enterprise to Build Domestic ERP... Opening in February Next Year

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] Korea East-West Power announced on the 31st that it held the 'Domestic ERP KEWVIS Design Results Reporting Workshop' at the Ulsan Hyundai Hotel from the 30th to 31st.
About 100 employees from East-West Power and the service provider Douzone Bizon attended the event. The event proceeded in the order of reporting the progress of enterprise resource planning (ERP) advancement, presenting the To-Be system design results, and holding sector-specific meetings.
As a result of the analysis and design phase conducted by East-West Power and Douzone Bizon for six months since August last year, a total of 1,920 processes (screens) were derived, including standard package function enhancements (39%), new development of power generation packages (54%), and dedicated package development (7%).
The new ERP system is scheduled to open in February next year after an eight-month development period and a five-month integration testing period.
An East-West Power official said, "Introducing a domestic ERP is the first case among 35 domestic public enterprises with sales exceeding 100 billion won," adding, "It is especially meaningful to apply a domestic ERP in the energy sector."

He added, "Currently, most large companies including public enterprises rely on foreign ERP, so the localization of ERP systems will be a groundbreaking opportunity for the domestic software industry and national economic development," and "Based on the To-Be system design results presented at this workshop, we plan to proceed smoothly with the seven-month system development phase."
