According to CNN, Hebei Province stated in a proclamation on the same day, "If a patient infected with the novel coronavirus intentionally spits saliva with the purpose of transmitting the virus to others, this can pose a serious threat to public safety and may be subject to punishment."
It also warned that suspected novel coronavirus patients who refuse quarantine, isolation, or treatment may be punished. This is also considered an act that can transmit the disease to others.
Hebei Province stated that this measure will be applied immediately.
