President Moon to Chair Comprehensive Meeting on 'Novel Coronavirus' Response... Live Broadcast Scheduled
[Asia Economy Reporter Son Sunhee] President Moon Jae-in will preside over the 'Comprehensive Review Meeting on the Response to the Novel Coronavirus Infection (Wuhan Pneumonia)' at around 10:30 a.m. on the 30th at the Government Seoul Office. Considering the high public concern, President Moon's opening remarks at the meeting will be broadcast live on TV.
At the meeting, President Moon is expected to review the measures taken by the government and local governments in response to the novel coronavirus and urge a full government-wide response. The meeting will be attended by related officials from ministries including Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun, Ministry of Strategy and Finance, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries. Governors of 17 metropolitan cities and provinces will participate via video conference.
President Moon is expected to announce the schedule for repatriating Korean residents from Wuhan, Hubei Province, China, the origin of the novel coronavirus, and address the concerns of local residents opposing the quarantine facilities.

The government initially planned to send a chartered flight to Wuhan on the morning of the day to repatriate the residents, but due to changes in the flight schedule, the chartered flight is now expected to depart as early as late at night on the same day.
