Gwangyang City Takes All-Out Measures to Prevent the Spread of Novel Coronavirus
Compliance with Infectious Disease Prevention Rules Such as Hand Washing, Cough Etiquette, and Reporting Overseas Travel History
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] On the 29th, the Gwangyang City Public Health Center in Jeonnam announced that it is making every effort to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus in the local community following the upgrade of the infectious disease crisis alert from caution to warning on the 27th.
Before the Lunar New Year holiday, the city produced 300 posters of infectious disease prevention guidelines and posted them in local medical institutions, administrative offices, and crowded places to promote proactive preventive measures.
Additionally, two screening clinics (Gwangyang City Public Health Center and Gwangyang Sarang Hospital) have been established and operated, and five infectious disease management institutions along with 40 isolation beds have been secured to block the risk of hospital transmission that could occur from suspected patients entering hospitals or medical staff being exposed.
Furthermore, a 24-hour emergency response system has been activated, and 31 dedicated public officials have been assigned on a one-to-one basis to manage contacts in preparation for confirmed cases, enabling proactive response to infectious diseases.
Moreover, all medical institutions have been provided with the Overseas Travel History Information System (ITS) and Drug Utilization Review (DUR) services to thoroughly conduct screening by checking travel history to Wuhan, China, thereby strengthening infectious disease management.
