Hyundai Capital China Subsidiary Implements "Wuhan Pneumonia" Measures: "Mandatory Mask Wearing"
Paid Leave Until Normal Body Temperature Returns
Thermometers and Hand Sanitizers Fully Stocked
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] As concerns over the novel coronavirus infection (Wuhan pneumonia) spread, Hyundai Capital's China branch has also taken measures such as providing hand sanitizers and mandating mask-wearing.
On the 29th, according to Hyundai Capital, the Chinese joint venture 'Beijing Hyundai Motor Finance' is closely monitoring the spread of the novel coronavirus and has created and is implementing guidelines.
In cases where a high temperature of 37.5 degrees Celsius or above is detected, immediate notification is made followed by hospital transfer. Even if not confirmed infected, paid leave is granted until normal body temperature is restored. Additionally, employees are instructed to submit reports on their travel locations during the Chinese Lunar New Year holiday period. Thermometers and hand sanitizers have already been placed on each floor, and a prevention campaign including mandatory mask-wearing is underway.
A Hyundai Capital official explained, "If a confirmed case occurs, Chinese authorities plan to disinfect the entire office building."
Jung Tae-young, Vice Chairman of Hyundai Card, also posted on Facebook the previous day, saying, "We are worried about our Chinese employees and expatriates in Beijing," and added, "China has extended the Lunar New Year holiday by a week, giving the company more time to take various measures."
