On the morning of the same day, a petition titled "Democratic Party Talent Recruit No. 2 'Won Jong-geon' - Immediate Investigation into Sexual Crime Allegations and Strict Punishment if Guilty" was uploaded on the Blue House petition board.
The petitioner stated, "The Me Too allegations against Won have surfaced, and former colleagues from eBay Korea, as well as a journalist who is a Kyung Hee University alumnus and friend, have supported these allegations," adding, "The charges of dating sexual violence and illegal camera filming are becoming more serious, and testimonies from acquaintances are securing the likelihood of the crimes."
Earlier on the 27th, a woman who claimed to be Won's ex-girlfriend posted online, stating, "Won continuously treated me, his girlfriend, as a sexual object and tormented me with misogyny and gaslighting."

She explained, "Won’s actions were clearly dating violence, and I sincerely wanted an apology, but he never expressed any remorse. If you search only for Won Jong-geon on Google, Me Too automatically appears. Although it has been removed now, the term also used to appear on Naver," she said.
She added, "I am not afraid of being sued for defamation. The incidents I mentioned are clear facts based on evidence and personal experience, so if I am sued for defamation by stating facts, it would mean admitting his wrongdoing. Even if he is not a public figure, this is an incident that deserves criticism, and I believe it is wrong to let it be buried like this," she emphasized.
As the controversy escalated, Won held a press conference at the National Assembly that morning and returned his talent recruit status. In his statement, Won apologized, saying, "A former girlfriend posted content related to me on the internet. The controversy alone has caused harm to the party. I am sorry for that."
