K-eco to Award Facility Construction Contracts Worth 870 Billion KRW This Year... 64% to Be Carried Out in the First Half

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The Korea Environment Corporation announced on the 27th that it has finalized the 2020 environmental facility construction order plan worth a total of 872.7 billion KRW.

This year, the number of facility construction orders is 108, the same as last year, but the order amount decreased by about 2.9% (26.1 billion KRW) compared to 898.8 billion KRW last year.

The Environment Corporation plans to contribute to revitalizing the construction market by placing early orders for 74 projects worth a total of 556.2 billion KRW, which accounts for about 64% of the total environmental facility construction order amount, within the first half of this year.

Among the total 108 environmental facility construction projects, 2 will be conducted through turnkey bidding, and the remaining 106 will proceed through general bidding methods such as qualification evaluation.

The turnkey bids include ▲Seosan City Resource Recovery Facility Installation Project and ▲Yangpyeong County Local Waterworks Modernization Project, with a total construction amount of 89.8 billion KRW.

Looking at the entire construction projects by scale, there are 6 projects with an order amount of 30 billion KRW or more, 25 projects between 10 billion KRW and less than 30 billion KRW, and 77 projects under 10 billion KRW.

Among the 6 projects over 30 billion KRW, the largest project is the 'Hanam City Hanam Public Sewage Treatment Facility Expansion Project' worth 85.3 billion KRW, scheduled to be ordered in March this year.

The other 5 facility construction projects are ▲Seosan City Resource Recovery Facility Installation Project ▲Yeosu National Industrial Complex Public Wastewater Treatment Facility (Wolnae, Junghung) Expansion Project ▲Incheon City Gulpo Stream Ecological River Restoration Project ▲Changwon City Seongsan Resource Recovery Facility Unit 2 Major Repair Project ▲Paju City Janggok-ri Sewage Pipeline Maintenance Project.

Examining all projects by type of environmental facility, wastewater and sewage treatment facility installation projects accounted for the largest share at 56% (486.3 billion KRW) of the total facility construction scale.

Environmental energy facility installation projects accounted for about 21% (181 billion KRW), aquatic ecological facility installation projects 12% (108.3 billion KRW), and other environmental facilities 11% (97.1 billion KRW).
