Confirmed Cases of Wuhan Pneumonia in Japan Increase to 3
A Woman in Her 30s from Wuhan, China, Diagnosed Positive While Traveling
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection, referred to as Wuhan pneumonia in Japan, has increased to three.
On the 25th, Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare announced that a woman in her 30s residing in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China, who visited Japan for tourism purposes on the 18th, was confirmed to be infected with the novel coronavirus.
The woman began showing symptoms such as coughing and fever from the night of the 21st, after entering Japan, and received medical treatment at a hospital in Tokyo starting on the 23rd. On the same day, the National Institute of Infectious Diseases confirmed the infection through testing. It has not been confirmed whether she had contact with a Wuhan pneumonia patient. It is known that she wore a mask while traveling.
The day before, a man in his 40s who visited Japan for tourism was confirmed to be infected. Earlier, a man in his 30s residing in Kanagawa Prefecture, who had visited Wuhan City, was also diagnosed as positive.
