According to reports, around 5 p.m. that day, a group exchanged arguments near Seattle's famous tourist spot Pike Place Market and a nearby McDonald's, which escalated into a shooting. Fire authorities stated that there were multiple suspects involved with firearms but did not disclose the exact number.
Carmen Best, Chief of the Seattle Police Department, said they are tracking "at least two" suspects involved in the incident, explaining, "They drew guns, and after gunshots rang out, they scattered in different directions."

The shooting resulted in one death and seven injuries. All those shot were pedestrians. The deceased was reported to be a woman in her 40s to 50s who died instantly at the scene. Additionally, a 55-year-old woman and a 9-year-old boy sustained serious injuries. The remaining five victims were all men and have since stabilized, AP reported.
