Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station Launches Fire Prevention Campaign During Lunar New Year Holiday
‘Gohyangjip, Gifting Residential Fire Safety Equipment’... Building Consensus on Safety Culture
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station (Chief Moon Gisik) announced on the 23rd that it conducted the ‘Gift Home Fire Safety Equipment to Your Hometown House’ campaign to raise awareness of fire prevention and safety culture during the Lunar New Year holiday.
About 60 participants from related organizations, including the Volunteer Fire Brigade, Songjeong Station officials, and the Gwangsan Fire Safety Council, took part in this campaign.
To prevent residential fires, the campaign promoted the importance of standalone smoke detectors that alert residents early to evacuate and fire extinguishers that can suppress fires at an early stage. A fire safety experience center was also operated, where participants could learn how to use fire extinguishers, fire hydrants, and emergency escape devices, as well as practice cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
