Hwang Kyo-ahn: "Moon Administration's Economic Policy a Complete Failure... Let's Discuss Economy and Livelihood First at the Summit"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Hwang Kyo-ahn, leader of the Liberty Korea Party, pointed out the government's failure in economic policy and stated that economic and livelihood issues should be discussed in a summit meeting with President Moon Jae-in.
On the 23rd, Hwang said at the Supreme Council meeting at the National Assembly, "The Blue House asked for specific details about holding the summit meeting, but we must first discuss the economy and livelihood," emphasizing this point.
He said, "We need to first discuss economic agendas such as real estate, jobs, livelihood issues, economic crisis response, future growth engines, and fiscal soundness," and added, "We are waiting for the President's response."
He also criticized the Moon administration's economic failures. He said, "Looking at the economic report card for 2019, there seems to be no room for disagreement anymore," adding, "The Moon administration's economic policy is a complete failure beyond just failure. Income, growth, distribution, and employment all suffered a KO defeat." Hwang stated, "The fact that last year's real gross national income decreased by 0.4% compared to the previous year simply means that the people have become poorer," and criticized, "There was no oil shock or foreign exchange crisis, only the Moon administration risk. The Moon government's socialist economic experiment is scarier than the global financial crisis."
Hwang said, "Even the 2% growth rate was artificially created, with the government's contribution reaching 1.5%," and criticized, "It is pathetic to see the government recklessly pouring taxpayers' money to forcibly create a 2% growth rate and then sighing in relief. Is the government so idle that it hastily approves the joint North-South Olympic hosting at the Cabinet meeting? Now they openly intend to use Blue House power to kick companies in the shins."
He continued his criticism of the prosecution personnel. Floor leader Shim Jae-cheol said, "The personnel verification team led by Secretary Choi Kang-wook is conducting ideological verification by asking the prosecution about the 'Lee Seok-ki case' and is dragging out the prosecution of Prosecutor General Ko Ki-yong and Baek Won-woo," adding, "Shim Jae-cheol, head of the Supreme Prosecutors' Office Anti-Corruption Department, is ordering the dismissal of charges against Cho Kuk and covering up illegal corruption."
He continued, "The day before yesterday, the Cabinet approved an organizational reform to reduce the prosecution's direct investigation departments," and emphasized, "Today, they are proceeding with a second massacre by dismissing 300 ordinary prosecutors; if this becomes visible, we will file another complaint against Justice Minister Choo Mi-ae."
