Preliminary Candidate Choi Young-ho Holds 'Youth Communication Table'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Choi Young-ho, a preliminary candidate for the Democratic Party of Korea in Gwangju Metropolitan City Dongnam-gap district, announced on the 22nd that from the 20th for two days, he held a meeting under the theme "Youth! Let's Walk Only on the Flower Road" with about 30 members of the Youth Forum (Chairman: Kim Hyun-sung), a group composed of cultural artists and self-employed workers active in the Gwangju area, as well as young people from various fields including office workers, entrepreneurs, and youth committee members of Gwangju Metropolitan City at his election office in Juwol-dong, Nam-gu.
Preliminary candidate Choi Young-ho introduced his experience in grassroots politics that began in his youth in Nam-gu, saying, "I hope young people will take more interest in politics, and if they have a heart that prioritizes public interest, it would be good to start with grassroots politics."
He shared details from his tenure as Nam-gu mayor, including plans to prepare 500 youth housing units on the former Veterans Affairs Office and Veterans Hospital sites, as well as offices, laboratories, workshops, and exchange spaces to support youth startups, along with recent discussions on youth debt, asserting, "Our society needs to pay more attention and provide policy consideration for young people."
Candidate Choi stated, "The country lives when the youth live," and added, "I will actively reflect good policies as future pledges through a listening tour that communicates to develop youth life in areas such as youth jobs, childcare, startups, and culture and arts."
