[Hyundai Motor Conference Call] "Genesis to Launch First Electric Vehicle by Next Year, Strengthening Lineup"
[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] The Genesis brand mentioned that it will launch its first electric vehicle by next year, along with the release of the mid-size sport utility vehicle (SUV) GV70 this year.
Lee Yong-woo, Head of Genesis Division (Vice President), stated during Hyundai Motor Company's 2019 annual performance conference call held on the 22nd, "Along with the launch of the second SUV GV70 in the second half of this year, we will add the brand's first electric vehicle to the lineup by next year."
He continued, "This year, we set the sales target for the Genesis brand at approximately 116,000 units," adding, "The reason we aim to surpass 100,000 units sold for the first time since the brand's launch is because we believe SUVs such as the GV80 and GV70 have market competitiveness."

He further stated, "We will satisfy customer needs to the fullest by providing not only Genesis's excellent product competitiveness but also a unique customer experience," and added, "We will strengthen the lineup to enter Europe, the home of luxury brands, and China, the largest automobile market, in the future."
