Kibo Holds Workshop on 'Strengthening Innovation Support Capabilities for SMEs and Ventures'

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Korea Technology Finance Corporation (Chairman Jung Yoon-mo, hereinafter referred to as Kibo) announced on the 21st that it held a management strategy workshop to strengthen support capabilities for small and medium venture innovation at its headquarters in Munhyeon-dong, Busan, attended by more than 120 executives, headquarters managers, and frontline branch managers.
This workshop was organized to share last year's business performance and this year's key tasks, and to review Kibo's policy direction to fulfill its role as a comprehensive support institution backing the startup and scale-up of technology innovation companies. Chairman Jung Yoon-mo said in his opening remarks, "This year as well, let us take the lead in building a Smart Korea and spreading the second venture boom as a comprehensive support institution for small and venture companies."
Last year, Kibo supplied a total of 22 trillion won in guarantees focusing on core policy areas such as technology startups and job creation, supporting the scale-up of technology innovation companies and revitalizing startups by excellent technical personnel, thereby contributing to economic vitality. This year, Kibo plans to concentrate its capabilities on supplying technology guarantees centered on six new industries and innovative growth industries such as smart factories, and fostering innovative companies including small and medium materials, parts, and equipment companies, strong small and medium enterprises 100, prospective unicorns, and Tech Valley.

Additionally, to strengthen the expertise of the technology evaluation business, Kibo plans to develop a new evaluation model utilizing artificial intelligence (AI). It also plans to actively support companies without sales and low-credit companies if they have technological capabilities and growth potential, laying the foundation for inclusive economic growth. At this workshop, Professor Lee Jung-dong of Seoul National University, who gave a special lecture on the topic "The History of Industrial Technology Development and Future Challenges," said, "In this era of great transformation rewriting the history of Korea's industrial technology, Kibo can play a key role in fostering leading technologies that will dominate the global market."
