Geumcheon-gu Supports Livelihood Stability for Employment-Vulnerable Groups
Recruitment of Participants for the 2020 First Half Regional Community Job Project...Providing Jobs to 21 People through 5 Projects...Apply from 21 to 31 at Local Community Service Centers or Worknet Site
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yuseonghun) is recruiting participants for the ‘2020 First Half Regional Community Job Project’ from the 21st to the 31st to provide jobs for employment-vulnerable groups.
The ‘Regional Community Job Project’ is a job initiative aimed at supporting livelihoods by providing productive and stable jobs to residents willing to work, and revitalizing the community by discovering jobs suited to local characteristics.
In this job project recruitment, a total of 21 participants will be recruited to work in five projects including urban agriculture activation, operation of the village vitality cafe, and operation of the visiting job counseling window.
The recruitment fields are divided into general and specialized fields. By project, the ‘general field’ recruits △9 people for the urban agriculture activation project, △4 people for the visiting job counseling window operation, and △4 people for the creation of the Siheung 3-dong landmark with the village.
The ‘specialized field’ recruitment numbers are △1 person for the bicycle comprehensive service center operation, △2 people for the visiting job counseling window operation, and △1 person for the Siheung 4-dong village vitality cafe operation.
Only those with relevant qualifications can apply for the specialized field: ‘experienced bicycle repair technicians’ for each project, ‘holders of vocational counseling certificates,’ and ‘holders of barista certificates.’
Applicants must be Geumcheon-gu residents aged between 18 and under 65 as of the project start date, capable of working, with household income at or below 65% of the median income and assets under 200 million KRW.
Residents wishing to participate can apply in person at their local community service center from the 21st to the 31st or apply online through the Worknet website (www.work.go.kr).
The district office will select final participants based on document screening and eligibility assessment for each project, ranking applicants by scores on the selection criteria score sheet, and will notify individuals in February.
Selected residents will work 5 hours a day, 5 days a week, for 4 months from March 2 to June 18. They will receive a daily wage of 48,000 KRW including a 5,000 KRW snack allowance and will be mandatorily enrolled in the four major social insurances.
Mayor Yuseonghun said, “In the difficult economic conditions caused by prolonged recession and unemployment, I hope the Regional Community Job Project will help stabilize the livelihoods of employment-vulnerable groups even a little. We will continue to discover many productive and sustainable jobs through public-private cooperation so that low-income families, the elderly, and other vulnerable groups can lead stable lives.”
