Citibank Improves Housing Conditions for Vulnerable Groups Using Waste Wood with University Students
[Asia Economy Reporter Haeyoung Kwon] Korea Citibank announced on the 20th that on the 17th, it conducted a 'Sharing Day' activity with about 75 students participating in the '14th Citi-Kyung Hee University Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Internship Program' at Seoul Saehwalyong Plaza in Seongdong-gu, Seoul.
The students created upcycled benches and tables using discarded wood. They also took time to raise awareness about improving the self-sufficiency environment for the homeless, environmental protection through upcycling, and resource circulation.
Citibank has designated one day each year during the internship program period as Sharing Day, carrying out meaningful volunteer activities together with the participating students. This year, under the theme of 'Essential Environment (Pil-Hwangyeong)', they conducted upcycled woodworking activities, and the products made will be donated to supported housing and welfare facilities to provide comfortable living spaces for vulnerable groups.
