Ministry of Education Forms Situation Assessment Team for Missing Nepalese Teacher Incident
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] On the 20th, the Ministry of Education announced that it has formed a situation assessment team regarding the incident in which four teachers from the Chungnam region went missing due to an avalanche in the Annapurna region of the Nepal Himalayas.
The situation assessment team is led by Jeong Jong-cheol, Director of the Education Safety Information Bureau of the Ministry of Education, and includes the heads of the School Safety Division, Teacher Policy Division, Teacher Training and Development Division, International Education Officer, and Public Relations Officer.
The Ministry of Education plans to cooperate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and others to ensure that all missing teachers are rescued as quickly as possible. It also plans to provide psychological treatment and counseling to support the families of the missing teachers and the teachers who returned early to regain stability.
