Kolon Industries Launches Luxury Golf Wear G/FORE in Korea
[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Kolon Industries FnC Division (hereinafter Kolon FnC) announced on the 20th that it will officially import the premium luxury golf brand G/FORE into Korea.
Through the launch of G/FORE, Kolon FnC plans to diversify the portfolio of its golf wear business division, which operates brands such as Elrod, Jack Nicklaus, and WAK, and take an aggressive approach.
Kolon FnC explained, "G/FORE is a brand launched in 2011 in Los Angeles, USA, by fashion designer Massimo Gianulli, and it has gained a reputation as a hot brand among golf enthusiasts with its Hollywood sensibility and trendy style."
Kolon FnC will directly import golf shoes, golf gloves, hats, and other products and develop the business through flagship stores, department stores, and online channels. Starting from the Spring/Summer 2021 season, they plan to launch apparel products using the brand license.
The representative product of G/FORE is the signature color gloves, which feature a simple yet sophisticated design made from AA-grade lamb leather. They are available in 13 colors, allowing for various styling options.
Golf shoes released in various lineups such as the Gallivanter and Disruptor use premium waterproof leather to guarantee optimal comfort, stability, and performance. For golfers seeking a unique style, G/FORE offers slip-on types and snapback hats that provide good sun protection, breaking away from the conventional golf shoe mold.
Kolon, through its affiliates, operates golf courses (such as Woojeong Hills and La Vie Belle), sponsors the Korea Open Golf Championship, and supports the national golf team.
Moon Hee-sook, head of the golf business division, stated, "Korean golf consumers have the highest fashion involvement in the world and constantly seek differentiated products to express themselves," adding, "G/FORE will become another brand that shares new experiences and allows customers to express their imagination."
