[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jung-gu, Seoul (Mayor Seoyangho) will start issuing a total of 10 billion KRW worth of 'Seoul Jung-gu Love Gift Certificates' from the 17th.
'Seoul Jung-gu Love Gift Certificates' are mobile local gift certificates linked with Zero Pay, which can be purchased (recharged) through the Zero Pay payment app and used at Zero Pay affiliated stores within Jung-gu.
Citizens can purchase gift certificates at a 7% discount anytime, up to 500,000 KRW per person per month. Purchasing 500,000 KRW worth of certificates saves 35,000 KRW. During special discount periods such as the initial sales, holidays, and policy events, discounts of up to 10% are offered.
Additionally, when paying with the gift certificates, all affiliated stores benefit from a 0% payment commission fee, providing advantages to small business owners. Since the gift certificate payment amount is included in the VAT payment deduction for affiliated stores, the tax burden is also eased.
The Seoul Jung-gu Love Gift Certificates are issued only in mobile form in three denominations: 10,000 KRW, 50,000 KRW, and 100,000 KRW. They can be purchased, used, or gifted through dedicated apps such as CheckPay, MoneyTree, BizPlay, and NongHyup AllOne Bank.
Purchased gift certificates can be used in the same way as the Zero Pay payment method. After selecting the payment menu in the app, scan the QR code displayed at the affiliated store, enter the amount, and complete the payment.
If the gift certificate is unused, the purchaser can request a refund within 7 days, and even if more than 60% of the face value has been used, the remaining balance can be refunded.
The gift certificates can be used at about 8,900 Zero Pay affiliated stores within Jung-gu, including neighborhood supermarkets, restaurants, academies, hospitals, small franchises, and various retail businesses to revitalize the local economy. Usage is restricted at large supermarkets, department stores, some large corporation affiliates/franchises, and gambling or entertainment businesses.
