Previously, Lee stated that the move-in date was in 1994, but later corrected it to 1999 in a subsequent statement.
On the 18th, Lee posted on his Facebook, "There was an error regarding my apartment, so I would like to inform you," adding, "I lived in Jongno, moved to Gangnam in 1994, and moved into the Jamwon-dong apartment (a cooperative housing with a net area of 25.7 pyeong) in 1999."
He continued, "I confused the timing," and apologized for the mistake.
Earlier, on the 16th, Lee explained, "I signed a jeonse (long-term lease) contract for an apartment in Jongno-gu, but some media outlets questioned the source of the jeonse funds," adding, "I rented out my apartment, where I have lived since 1994, and used that money to rent the Jongno apartment." At that time, he corrected the move-in date for the Jamwon-dong apartment from 1994 to 1999.
Meanwhile, it is known that Lee recently signed a jeonse contract for an apartment in Jongno-gu, Seoul, valued at around 900 million won. However, since the contract timing coincided with the government's announcement of strict real estate loan regulations, suspicions arose regarding the source of funds. There were allegations that he might have taken advantage of the so-called 'last train' for loans before the regulations were enforced.
