Driver in their 50s Driving Under the Influence Hits Two Parked Cars, Causing Fire
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Seul-gi] A drunk driver in his 50s collided with multiple parked vehicles on the road, causing a fire.
According to the Pohang Nambu Police Station on the 17th, at around 1:20 a.m., Mr. A, driving a Santa Fe, hit two vehicles including a Benz that were parked on the road in front of the Pohang Intercity Bus Terminal.
After the collision, a fire broke out in Mr. A's vehicle and spread to other vehicles, causing an estimated damage of about 46 million KRW, according to the fire department.
The fire was extinguished by the 119 fire brigade, who arrived after the report, within about 20 minutes.
Mr. A, who caused the accident, was found to have a blood alcohol concentration of 0.113%, which is at the level for license cancellation.
