Jeonbuk Province Strengthens Protection and Support for Underprivileged Groups During Lunar New Year Holiday
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Jeonbuk Province is taking the lead in improving the quality of life for residents and realizing warm and friendly welfare by strengthening protection and support for low-income marginalized groups in celebration of the Seollal holiday.
According to Jeonbuk Province on the 17th, the province plans to support 26.3 million KRW including living expenses and consolation for 2,660 marginalized households in the province by the 23rd, and provide 33 million KRW to 313 social welfare facilities for setting up ancestral rites tables, aiming to offer a warm and heartfelt Lunar New Year.
In addition, to help Jeonbuk-type basic livelihood security recipients who are struggling financially prepare for a bountiful Seollal holiday, the payment date for livelihood benefits will be moved up from the 30th to the 23rd, providing 11 million KRW to 500 households.
Since the 10th, employees of Jeonbuk Provincial Government and affiliated organizations have been visiting sister social welfare facilities (living facilities) to deliver consolation goods and comfort residents and workers.
Along with this, projects for marginalized groups are being promoted, such as providing living expenses, medical expenses, and housing costs through emergency support projects and community chest funds for low-income families facing difficulties and crises.
