Announcement of '2020 Policy Directions' at the Women Entrepreneurs New Year Meeting
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Park Young-sun, Minister of SMEs and Startups, attended the '2020 Women Entrepreneurs New Year Meeting' hosted by the Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association and other women entrepreneur organizations on the 17th to encourage women entrepreneurs and announce this year's SME policy directions.
On this day, Minister Park first expressed her gratitude for the efforts of women entrepreneurs who are quietly working hard in various fields despite difficult domestic and international conditions such as Japan's export restrictions. She then explained the policy directions and detailed support policies for 2020, including the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' policy goals of 'Building the World's Strongest DNA (Data, Network, AI) Korea' and 'Realizing a Smart Korea for a Great Transition to the Digital Economy.'

Minister Park said, "We ask women entrepreneurs to take great interest in government policies and actively participate," adding, "The budget exclusively for women-owned businesses has been significantly increased this year so that women-owned businesses can grow as key players in the 4th Industrial Revolution." The budget exclusively for women-owned businesses increased by 33.7% compared to last year. Minister Park emphasized, "We will continue to expand support that can help business management in the future."
