[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Son Tae-seok] Sacheon City, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 17th that it will expand the childbirth incentive payments to create a better environment for having and raising children.
The city plans to apply this to babies born on or after January 1 of this year, according to the related ordinance revised last year.
The expanded childbirth incentive payments will provide 1 million KRW for the first child, a lump sum of 2 million KRW for the second child, and 6 million KRW for the third child, paid in installments over five years, for families who have children born on or after January 1 of this year.
In addition, the city will support the out-of-pocket expenses for maternal and newborn health care services, congratulatory gifts for pregnancy and childbirth, and nutritional supplements for pregnant women and infants.

To receive the childbirth incentive payment, either the father or mother must have their resident registration and reside in the city as of the child's birth registration date.
