The '1000-won bus,' which will be implemented from the 21st, offers a flat fare of 1000 won for adults, 800 won for middle and high school students, and 500 won for elementary school students, allowing travel anywhere within the county.
Previously, rural buses charged a base fare of 1300 won, with an additional fare of 116.14 won per kilometer for distances exceeding 10 km.
The implementation of the 1000-won bus is expected to significantly reduce the economic burden on residents who use long-distance buses.
In particular, combined with existing services such as the Rural Happiness Helper, Haenam Love Taxi (100-won taxi), Youth Safe Return Taxi (1000-won taxi), and Disabled Call Taxi, this initiative is achieving great results in realizing transportation welfare that directly benefits residents' daily lives.
To operate the 1000-won bus, Haenam County and Haenam Transportation Co., Ltd. signed a business agreement on the 14th, agreeing to work together to improve transportation convenience for residents.
Myeong Hyun-gwan, the mayor of Haenam County, stated, “As a pledge in the transportation environment sector of the 7th local government administration, we are focusing on expanding transportation welfare by social class in rural areas. The implementation of the 1000-won bus is expected to greatly help reduce residents' transportation costs and improve welfare.”
