Dabang, Benefited Greatly from Hyeri... App Traffic Increased by 50%
CF Released: 3.5 Million Views in 2 Weeks
52% Increase in Dabang App Users
20% Rise in 'Visit Nearby Facilities' Usage
[Asia Economy Reporter Onyu Lim] The real estate information platform Dabang has greatly benefited from its advertising model Hyeri. Station3, which operates Dabang, announced on the 15th that its new advertisement "Dabang Did It All" surpassed 3.5 million views on YouTube and other platforms within two weeks of its release this year.
This advertisement conveys the message that Dabang provides information about the surroundings of a room (transportation, security, convenience facilities), easing the effort of users searching for rooms. Model Hyeri attracted attention by shedding her usual cheerful image and showcasing a confident and chic charm.
The advertising effect also translated into actual platform traffic. Immediately after the ad launch, the number of users searching for Dabang on major portals such as Naver increased by about 40%, making it the number one real estate platform in portal search volume. Traffic on the Dabang app also increased. In the second week of January, the weekly page views (PV) and weekly active users (WAU) of the Dabang application rose approximately 48% and 52%, respectively, compared to the same period last month. Usage of Dabang’s "View Nearby Facilities" service, which is prominently featured in the commercial, also increased by 20% compared to the previous month.
Dabang plans to continue advertising not only through TV commercials until March, the peak season for the one-room market, but also via bus ads in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Busan, subway ads in Busan and Daejeon, outdoor media in major hub areas, and nationwide movie theaters. Within the Dabang app, various events linked to this commercial, such as "Dabang Quiz" and "Introduce Dabang," will also be held.
Park Sung-min, Head of Marketing at Dabang, said, "These days, millennials consider the surrounding environment of a room as important as the room’s facilities, such as Sse-gwon (Starbucks commercial area) and Ol-se-gwon (Olive Young commercial area). Even without visiting the room in person, users can check everything on Dabang?from the locations of cafes and convenience stores around the room to government offices, CCTV, and security facilities."
