Jeonbuk Province Labor-Management-Government Council Goes All Out for 'Employment Stability Proactive Response Package' Contest
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] With the establishment of a foothold to overcome the employment crisis in Gunsan through the ‘Gunsan-type job creation’ initiative, labor, industry, civil society, and local governments in Jeonbuk Province have united in recognizing the need to overcome the regional economic crisis by stabilizing employment and creating jobs in neighboring cities and counties such as Iksan, Gimje, and Wanju.
On the 14th, Jeonbuk Province held the Jeonbuk Labor-Management-Government-Civil Council at the provincial government’s comprehensive situation room, attended by Governor Song Ha-jin and Kim Yong-hyun, chairman of the Jeonbuk Employers Federation, where they unanimously reviewed and approved the application for the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s public contest for the ‘Employment Stability Preemptive Response Package’ support project.
This follows the agreement signed on the 8th between Jeonbuk Province and the cities of Iksan, Gimje, and Wanju?where concerns about employment crises have been raised?to actively respond to the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s ‘Employment Stability Preemptive Response Package’ public contest by establishing the ‘Jeollabuk-do Employment Stability Safety Belt.’ The Jeonbuk Labor-Management-Government-Civil Council also lent its support.
Previously, the province formed a consortium among Iksan, Gimje, and Wanju to build the ‘Jeonbuk Employment Stability Safety Belt’ and drafted a project plan for the ‘Employment Stability Preemptive Response Package’ public contest.
After the council’s approval, the finalized project plan will be submitted to the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s public contest by the 20th.
If selected, the project can receive up to 100 billion KRW over five years to support areas such as job creation, employment services, improvement of employment environments, startup support, and vocational training.
On the same day, the Jeonbuk Labor-Management-Government-Civil Council also adopted and announced a resolution titled ‘Resolution for Creating Jeonbuk-type Jobs for Labor-Management Coexistence.’
The resolution calls for the creation of Jeonbuk-type jobs that will lead the millennium-long Jeonbuk by realizing the value of labor-management coexistence through the establishment of employment and labor governance, thereby stabilizing employment in Iksan, Gimje, and Wanju.
In particular, it pledges special efforts to stabilize employment in the Iksan, Gimje, and Wanju areas and strongly urges the government to pay special and meticulous attention to the difficulties faced by the Jeonbuk economy and the efforts of local labor, management, government, and civil society to overcome them.
