Jeonnam Province Deputy Governor Park Byung-ho Visits Ori Poultry Slaughterhouse Site
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Park Byeongho, Vice Governor of Jeonnam Province, visited the Sajowon Duck Slaughterhouse in Naju to inspect the quarantine site and encourage the workers.
According to Jeonnam Province on the 14th, this site visit was carried out due to the continuous detection of low pathogenic AI and the arrival of approximately 367,000 migratory birds last December.
So far, 19 cases of low pathogenic AI have been detected in wild birds.
By region, there were 5 cases in Chungnam, 4 in Gyeongbuk, 3 in Gyeongnam, 2 each in Gyeonggi and Chungbuk, and 1 each in Seoul, Gangwon, and Jeonbuk, with no detections yet in Jeonnam.

Vice Governor Park Byeongho said, “Recently, highly pathogenic avian influenza has been continuously occurring in poultry farms in Europe and Taiwan, and highly pathogenic AI has also been detected in wild birds in China,” adding, “Please strictly adhere to the strengthened quarantine guidelines to prevent avian influenza.”
