Yeonggwang-gun Achieves 'Jeonnam's First Annual Rice Sales of 50.5 Billion Won'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeon Seong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Jun-seong) announced on the 14th that Yeonggwang Nonghyup RPC (CEO Kang Seon-jung) became the first among the 26 rice processing complexes (RPC) under Jeonnam Nonghyup to achieve annual rice sales of 50.5 billion KRW.
The rice sales of 50.5 billion KRW correspond to 1.2 million 20kg bags. To achieve this rice sales amount, the county has supported a total project cost of 13.812 billion KRW, including 6.243 billion KRW for upgrading processing facilities from 2010 to last year as part of the high-quality rice brand development project.
In 2016 and last year, 2 billion KRW was also provided to minimize damage to rice-producing farms caused by typhoons and to compensate for yield reductions due to the purchase of lower-quality rice at integrated RPCs.
Additionally, efforts have been made, including providing 220 million KRW annually to support delivery costs to secure lifelong customers for Yeonggwang rice. This year, 525 million KRW is planned to be supported for upgrading the RPC dust collection facilities.
