Naver Webtoon Acquires AI Startup 'Bidotdu'
[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Naver Webtoon announced on the 14th that it will acquire the AI startup V.DO.
V.DO is an AI company discovered by Naver's corporate accelerator D2 Startup Factory (D2SF). It is the third startup to be acquired after receiving early investment through Naver D2SF, following 'CompanyAI' and 'Polariant'.
V.DO is an AI startup in the computer vision field founded in June 2017 by Seoul National University master's and doctoral graduates. Since 2016, it has received funding and mentoring through D2SF's university (graduate) student technology startup competition. It has enhanced its technological capabilities by winning multiple awards in global technology challenges. After its founding, it has received various support from Naver D2SF, including investment, cloud infrastructure, technical and business feedback, and promotion and marketing, and has carried out various solution businesses such as ▲multi-code recognition ▲golf posture analysis ▲multi-CCTV analysis.
Naver Webtoon plans to further develop various technologies with V.DO to strengthen its webtoon content competitiveness.
